GSK Dungarvan is one of GSK’s global supply sites, with 750 employees supplying 70 markets covering USA, Europe, Africa, Latina, Mid East, Asia, Japan and ANZ with over 600 finished products SKUs. The site supports approx £750m of sales across the Panadol and Poligrip/Polident brands. Products manufactured in Dungarvan account for approx 10% of all GSK Consumer Healthcare sales.
The site is located in west Co. Waterford, on the South East coast of Ireland. It commenced supply in 1981 as a legacy Block Drug facility supplying toothpaste and denture care products. A separate legacy Sterling Health facility opened in 1987 supplying bulk Panadol. The current GSK Dungarvan was formed in the year 2000 when GSK acquired Block Drug and the separate factories were merged under a single site leadership team.
The site significantly expanded from this time across solid dose granulation, compression, blister packing and paste tube filling. The most recent expansion of the site’s facilities is the opening of a state of the art woodchip burning boiler in November 2016.
