At GSK, we know that there are times when we are more effective when we work with others.

Whether this is through an innovative manufacturing partnership, or through a charity partnership to save the lives of children around the world, we are committed to striking up collaborations that allow us to devise new, imaginative ways of working.

At GSK we support charities and community groups in Ireland through a range of programmes.

We are a long term supporter of Barretstown. In addition to providing over €8m in funding over the past 20 years, we contribute to Barretstown in various other ways – our employees often offer business expertise and training to the Barretstown team and over 300 GSK employees have spent their time volunteering in the camp volunteer programme to experience first-hand the magic Barretstown brings to children and their families. A new 3-year partnership between GSK and Serious Fun Children's Network continues the close relationship between GSK and the organisation, which began with Barretstown back in 1994.

The GSK Ireland IMPACT Awards are targeted to support small to medium healthcare organisations making an impact in their community. Alongside this, each year GSK employees across Ireland choose an Irish charity for the GSK Ireland Charity of the Year through a competitive nomination and voting process. Each of GSK’s five individual businesses in Ireland donate €5,000 per annum to the charity, equating to a minimum donation of €25,000. In addition to the funds donated by the company, a number of employee fundraising events also take place to raise extra monies for the charity and promote awareness of the work conducted by the chosen charity. GSK employees also share their time and expertise with the charity through GSK’s volunteer programme.

We also have a strong focus on charities that are close to our employees’ hearts. GSK employees are encouraged to volunteer one work day per year for a charity of their choice. As well as this, the Making a Difference Programme supports employees who volunteer for local community groups or charities in their own time by donating €500 per year to that charity on behalf of the employee.
