What we do
We are a science-led global healthcare company. We research and develop a broad range of innovative products in three primary areas of Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines and Consumer Healthcare.
We also have a significant global presence with commercial operations in more than 150 countries, a network of 86 manufacturing sites in 36 countries, including three in Ireland, and large R&D centres in the UK, USA, Spain, Belgium and China.
Through our investment in science and R&D, our medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products are making a real difference to Irish patients, consumers and the Irish health system. As part of this, GSK in Ireland has world class manufacturing sites, with leading technical capabilities and technologies to allow us supply our products safely, efficiently to the highest standards.
On 2nd March 2015 we completed a 3-part transaction with Novartis which reshapes our business.
We acquired Novartis’s vaccines business (excluding influenza vaccines) and combined our Consumer Healthcare businesses to create a new company. By substantially strengthening Vaccines and Consumer Healthcare, we can deliver far-reaching benefits to patients and consumers, and further value to shareholders. In addition, Novartis acquired our marketed Oncology portfolio.
More information will be added to this website over the coming weeks.
